Campgrounds

In the thick of Carolinian forest or along scenic Great Lakes shoreline, camping in Chatham-Kent is exceptional. Campers can choose the natural settings of two provincial parks or one of many recreation-packed family resorts for their summer camping experience.
Provincial Parks
Miles of sandy beach and boat launches for fishing are common at many campgrounds in Chatham-Kent. Both Rondeau and Wheatley Provincial Parks are situated along Lake Erie offering campers beachfront access and other water activities minutes from their site.
Wheatley offers wooded camp settings with most of its 220 sites shaded for good privacy. Recreational opportunities include beach access, playgrounds and hiking trails. Rondeau has 261 campsites and offers several recreational activities including lake and bay swimming, nature trails for hiking, biking and rollerblading and themed programs during peak tourist season. Tent, trailer and group camping are available at both parks. Operated under the same provincial mandate, both parks have comparable amenities.
Conservation Area & Private Campgrounds
C.M. Wilson Conservation Area has a forest, man-made lake and small woodlot with 100 campsites. Amenities include canoe rental, beach access and nature trails. Private campgrounds include Camper’s Cove, a family camping resort and the marina/campground Mitchell’s Bay Marine Park. Camper’s Cove is a large shaded campground with sports, movies, special events, teen programs, trails and more. The Marine Park features 108 campsites with boat launch ramps and close proximity to beaches and playgrounds.
Cabins
Beachcombers can relax in cabins near the shore in Chatham-Kent’s quaint waterfront communities, while campers can choose to stay in the heart of rare Carolinian forest at provincial parks or family camping resorts.
