Getting You Ready for Winter Driving
Driving in the winter may involve freezing rain, blizzards, and heavy snowfalls. This type of weather can create poor road conditions. You will have to prepare for winter driving. To learn more, visit Winter Driving in Ontario or Ontario's road conditions.
Getting Your Car Ready for Winter Driving
To get your car ready for winter; check fluids levels, tire pressure, wiper blades, and oil levels. Your gas tank should always be half-full in the winter.
You need to place an emergency kit in your car with the following items:
• Shovel, sand, and tow chain
• Flashlight and batteries
• Road map and compass
• Booster cables and flares
• Extra clothing, gloves, and winter boots
• Blankets
• Ice scraper and brush
• First-aid kit
You may want to think about buying Emergency Roadside Assistance from CAA in case of an emergency.
