Thamesville
Located in the eastern part of Chatham-Kent, Thamesville (population 930) is 10 minutes north of Highway 401 on Highway 21. Thamesville’s quaint downtown offers a selection of restaurants, shops and services.
Thamesville has two unique places in history. It was the birthplace of Canadian author Robertson Davies (Davies based his Deptford Trilogy on life in Thamesville). It is also the site of the Battle of the Thames during the War of 1812. A monument to Shawnee War Chief Tecumseh is located at the battle site.
The community also has several athletic fields, an outdoor swimming pool and skateboard park.
Thamesville offers a unique setting for families and people looking to live in a small community that provides access to the occasional cravings for larger communities. It is a few minute’s drive from Chatham, and within an hour’s drive from London and Windsor Ontario.

Thamesville is home the Westover Treatment Centre, a place where individuals can go to find counselling, guidance, support and friendship in their recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. The centre also aids individuals who have been affected by another person's addiction.
Thamesville is the home of the Threshing Festival, which is held annually in the month of June. The Threshing Festival's main attraction is the midway and the large parade held on the first night of the Festival.
