Living in a new community is not easy and will require patience, strength and perseverance. Our community will help you and your family build a life in Chatham-Kent.   

The following information resources will help you prepare for your new life in Canada:

• Going to Canada will answer your questions about moving to, and living in Canada. This site also has downloadable forms for visiting, studying, and working in Canada.

• Use the Entry Requirements Tool to determine which immigration application to use, that fits your personal situation, to enter into Canada. This tool will help families that want to immigrate to Canada, temporary workers, students and tourists.

• CanadaBenefits.gc.ca offers access to government benefits and financial assistance programs. The Immigration Loans Program and Resettlement Assistance Program could be useful for you.

• Citizenship and Immigration Canada developed two guides: A Newcomer's Introduction to Canada and Welcome to Canada: What You Need to Know.

• Settement.org and Ontario Immigration are two websites to help you get settled and live in Ontario.

• Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Call Centre Services gives information and answers questions about your immigration application.

• Service Canada oversees many federal services such as employment insurance, job banks and benefit programs like the Canada Pension Plan.
