Adult Language and Learning
The Mission of Adult Language and Learning is to promote and foster personal growth and adjustment for all, including immigrants, in Chatham-Kent through further education, training, and opportunities that support independence and employment.
Adult Language and Learning interviews and assesses prospective learners for literacy levels and needs, establishes individual learning goals and matches learners for referral to appropriate programs. Additional programs include: (ESL) English as a Second Language, (LINC) Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canadian citizenship classes, (LBS) Literacy Basic Skills, one-on-one tutoring, (ISAP) Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program, and (JSW) Job Search Workshops.

Excellence in Manufacturing
Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) is a unique not-for-profit organization founded nearly 25 years ago and federally chartered to ‘bring manufacturers together to take on the world. EMC has grown from a small-town 18 member association, into ‘Canada’s Largest Manufacturing Consortium’ and currently provides primary expertise to all sectors of manufacturing, including 900+ corporate members, 140,000+ individual members and community partners located in over 200 communities in Ontario, Atlantic and Western Canada. EMC is connecting over 40 Chatham-Kent region manufacturers and stakeholders with priority resources, best practices, and peer-to-peer networking both locally and regionally, as well as provincially and nationally through its 52 regional consortiums.“

Learning Disabilities Association of Chatham-Kent
The Learning Disabilities Association of Chatham-Kent provides a variety of programs and services to the community and to families managing LD and ADHD. Our mission is to provide leadership in learning disabilities advocacy, research, education and services and to advance the full participation of children, youth and adults with learning disabilities in today's society. The Learning Disabilities Association of Chatham-Kent is a volunteer based non-profit organization in existence since 1976, formed by a group of parents. We have been a funded agency of the United Way of Chatham-Kent since 1978.
Agency Services/Programs:
• one-to-one after school and summer Tutoring programs for elementary students
• Social Skills training groups (B.E.S.T. -- Better Emotional & Social Times) for elementary students
• Computer Clubs and Assistive Technology Training Workshops
• SOAR (Some Assembly Required) - Secondary school transitioning program
• Information and referrals for families managing learning disabilities and associated conditions
• Advocacy for families, individuals with learning disabilities; promotion of self-advocacy
• Resource library available to all involved in learning disabilities and ADHD management (eg. teachers, doctors, parents, children, students, individuals with LD and ADHD)
• Information Meetings educate and enrich those involved with learning disabilities and ADHD
• Newsletter (Local and Provincial) to educate and advertise guest presenters
